PAGB - Technical Committee - Third Report on Digital Projection

The PAGB have just released the Technical Committee reoprt on Digital Projection. The report can be accessed from the PAGB Website. If anyone is interested in reading the report, Leo suggests that you download the Third report (37 pages) so that you are fully informed of what has been achieved so far.

The following is from the PAGB website, including the links to the documents.

Starting in Apr-05, the Alliance Technical Standards Committee set out to collate information about Projected Digital Images (PDI). Information has been obtained from a wide variety of sources, including from a number of personal contributors whose help is much appreciated.

Download a copy of the First Interim Report to the PAGB Executive  Oct-05  (1 page) (PDF 21KB)

The Third Interim Report contains technical information intended as the foundation for further work. As such it may not be helpful for all readers.

Download a freeware colour target, usable as a standard image when setting up a monitor/projector (JPG 589KB). This image is 1632x2400 pixels which therefore needs resizing for display. Resizing may affect colours/resolution. Before using the freeware colour target, you are required to read and accept the attached licence (PDF  30KB).

Download a colour/grayscale step wedge image (TIF 1.0MB). This image is 966x359 pixels and can display on an XGA resolution monitor/projector without resizing. This image was previously prepared for the Alliance Permanent Collection Project.

Following receipt by the Alliance Executive of the Third Interim Report in Apr-06, the Executive agreed to the publication of the reports to date, and the publication of available test targets (links above). The Executive has instructed the Committee to develop one or more simple and short guidance documents, which may be of use to authors and to event organisers. Guidance documents will be published once they have been drafted and approved by the Executive.

Guidance from the Alliance cannot be binding on events within member Federations or their Clubs, where there are 13 September, 2006

The Committee maintains a separate website with notes of work in progress, and the site may be consulted by Federations/Clubs if required. Anyone wishing to correspond or contribute to the work of the Committee is invited to contact the Chairman (Mark Buckley-Sharp, see PAGB Handbook for details).
