This newsletter starts with the very sad news that Bob Elliott FRPS, EFIAP, APAGB passed away on the afternoon of October 10. Bob was the secreatry to the Southern Photographic Federation for a while.

He will be greatly missed by the Federation. He was always there, with his expertise and tremendous knowledge, giving of his time unselfishy to all things photographic.
Our thoughts are with his wife Audrey and his daughter.

Next some great news.... we have a new treasurer for the Southern Federation... Mr Roy Lambeth CPAGB BPE 1, a member of the Viewfinders Camera Club.... has stepped forward and kindly offerred his services, which the council have welcomed and promised him all the support he needs ....... perhaps this is a time I think to remind all members, that the council is made up of your peers from other clubs ... they put in a fair number of hours throughout the year on your behalf, arranging competitions and exhibitions. All these you know about, but we do need more representatives from the clubs. About half appear at the representative meetings held four times a year in Winchester and it is at these meetings that decisions are made and taken for the federation. We really do need more representatives from clubs, so if your club wants to know whats happening then send one of your members to voice your ideas or concerns. I hope to make this one of my main topics as President. So find out a little more about the other clubs and join us at the next representatives meeting.

My own club Highcliffe & Infinity are enjoying their new meeting place, complete with the purchase of a large screen and a new print display board. There is also a bar for those in need of medical assistance. We look forward to a year of successes. Our first member to receive the Federation Roll of Honour is, Louis Rumis ARPS APAGB a well known natural history photographer and raconteur, someone who gives his all for the furtherance of the art, and always available to give help, not only at our club but at his other club Southampton CC. We are delighted to know that his name has been added to that Roll of Honour.
Is there anyone in your own club who you think deserves to be added?????

What is your Club doing this season? We would like to include any important feature that you are intending to hold in the “Exposure” newsletter. Get in touch please. The more we know, the more others will.
Lastly I ask the Club, secretary’s to put on your notice board the website address of the SPF, we get a lot of “hits” but that is the place to look at for all club members to see who is who and what is what and it also has a lot of information which will perhaps, help to widen your thoughts, I know our webmaster is very happy to hear from you.

Ian Bigg,LRPS CPAGB.
President Southern Photographic Federation.
