Annual Exhibition - April 5 to 26 2008

HICC would like to invite your members to participate in an Open Exhibition - Closing date Wednesday, 5 March 2008. Full details on web site.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY (see also additional digital image conditions)

1.                This is a slide and digital image Exhibition and is open to UK residents only.
2.                A maximum of five slides or digital images may be entered.
3.                Slides should be 2in by 2in (50mm by 50mm) and preferably glass mounted.
4.                Slides should be numbered and titled (on the front) as per the entry form (photo copies are  acceptable) and bear the entrants name and address on the back.
5.                Slides should be spotted in the bottom left hand corner when viewed correctly in the hand.
6.                Numbers from previous exhibitions must be removed.
7.                The copyright of all images must be at the disposal of the entrant.
8.                Judging will be by projection.
9.                Scorecards will be sent to all entrants.
10.              The entry fee for slides or digital images is £6.50 for up to five images including return postage for slide entries. CD's are non-returnable and will be destroyed within 30 days of the judging date. Cheques should be made payable to the "Hayling Island Camera Club". These fees are non-refundable.
11.              Slide Entries should be submitted in packaging suitable for the return journey and any received in unreasonably heavy packaging will be repackaged. Please do not use staples (Blood can damage your slides).
12.              Entries without fees will not be judged and slides will only be returned on receipt of the correct remittance.
13.              We reserve the right to reproduce accepted images (without fee) in connection with the exhibition (e.g. in the Catalogue on the Club website). Copyright remains with the photographer.
14.              All reasonable care will be taken with the entries but the organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
15.              A catalogue will be sent to all entrants.
16.              All masking must be internal.
17.              The closing date will be strictly kept to.
18.              Submission of an entry implies acceptance of these conditions. Innes' which do not comply with these rules and the additional digital image rules, will be disqualified.
19.              Accepted slides will be scanned and loaded onto a DVD along with the accepted digital images, and displayed throughout the exhibition.
20.              Please ensure that you affix adequate postage to your entry. Standard CD cases are charged as Large letters by the Post Office.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR DIGITAL IMAGES

1 .               Up to five digital images may be submitted and must be as JPEG files on Compact Disc (CD) only.
2.                Titles should be no more than 30 characters long including spaces.
3.                Images will be projected in landscape format at a screen resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. Therefore images should be prepared so that they are no more than 1024 pixels wide and no more than 768 pixels hig'h. A portrait format image will be a maximum of 768 pixels high.
4.                Entries will be processed by computer with little human intervention, so it is essential that these instructions are followed exactly to allow us to present them correctly to the judges.
5.                CDs must only contain the work of one author.
6.                Images should be numbered 1 to 5 as on the entry form
7.                The original images must be photographed by the photographer either using film or digital capture. All manipulation must be by the photographer.
8.                Having prepared your images to the resolution in rule 3 save them as "jpg" or "jpeg" files and name them in the same order as the entry form in the following manner:- IFoggy Dawn.jpg 2Symmetry.jpg 3Street Artist.jpg 4Barn OwLjpg Do not put a space between dme image number and the file. Put your image files onto a CD. Do not put them in folders. Write the CD as a Data CD and close it. Do not use "Session" or "Multi Session". Use "Disk at Once" or "Write Disk”and the Close option. It is a good idea to test your CD through another CD Rom.
10.              Print your name and postcode on the CD with an indelible marker or direct printing. Do not use sticky labels.
11.              All CDs will be destroyed within 30 days after the end of the Exhibition.
