  2. Present.   5. Matters Arising. None.
  6. President's Report. Those who helped and especially Ernie were thanked for producing the new Handbook, available for collection at meeting. Two new members of Council, Lynn Lambeth & Ian Bigg. Lynn has volunteered to oversee catering at meetings. Call for more people to become Council Members to help with organisation of events. New On-Line Competition to be held Jan. to Apr. 2005. A warning was given not to lose ownership of Copyright when entering competitions – read the small print carefully. CPAGB Certificates awarded to Barbara Holder, Marion Smith, Peter Smith & Diana Driver. Anne referred to both PAGB Print and Slide Exhs., details of which under item 12.
  7. Treasurer's Report. Apologies expressed for delays in SPF business due to personal reasons.         Current financial situation: Cash - £29.02. Current Account - £117.61. High Int. D/A- £5488.50.
    PAGB subs.yet to be paid from these funds. Clubs paid up = 53.
  8. Correspondence. EXHIBITIONS – Arena @ Salisbury Library until Sept. 25 th . Salisbury CC in Library window, Graham Drew (B&W) at Salisbury Playhouse, Jamie Buchanan's Jurassic Coast at Theatre Royal Winchester until Sept. 29 th .
  9. Roll of Honour. None.
  10. Competition Secretary – a) League. Nothing to report – Lists to be in by Oct. 5 th .
     Entry Forms available for 2005/6 league. Problems arising from membership of more than one club were discussed. Agreed that members should be free to use their work without any restrictions imposed by clubs, with the exception of clubs and members checking that any piece of work be used once only by one club only. Ref. made to Rule 7 page 10 of the Handbook, emphasising the right of members to enter competition work via more than one club and 7a - confirmed if a print, once only, either colour or B&W.
    b) SPF Slide Championship.
    14 entries, 16 places to fill. Judges: Colin Westgate, Colin Harrison and Hugh Milsom. SPF's definition of NATURE would be a corruption of FIAP's - references to rocks & other natural phenomona removed; pictorial images OK if natural background; head only = portrait.
    c) SPF Print Championship Next will be on 29 th Jan. 2006. Call for VOLUNTEERS to host (Council to help).
  11. Exhibition Secretary's Report. Closing date had passed. Prints = 37 clubs, Slides = 32 clubs (a few places available). Forms to show work entered available for collection. Judging by John Tilsley, from Dorchester , on Sunday Dec. 12 th . @ Sparsholt.
  12. PAGB Exhibition Secretary's Report. Print Exh . – SPF had 4 mono and 5 colour accepted. Norrie Phillips Bournemouth PS gained HC Ribbon. Will be at Weymouth Library 4 th – 28 th Oct. Slide Exh . –SPF Selection next week – more slides still needed. PAGB selection, organised by Western Counties, mid Oct. All slides submitted to SPF back for Dec. quarterly meeting. Copy slides will be in SPF area Dec. 04 – details in Exposure.
    A call was made for PAGB to consider a digital alternative. PAGB Rep. said discussions were on-going, especially on issues such as copyright & standards of presentation. Delegates' attention drawn to the article on Lottery funding in Exposure .
     
  13. Publicity Secretary's Report. Booking sheet nearly full:- Exhibition catalogue possible income = £230; Handbook possible income = £155; Marrutt letter in Handbook possible income = £40; League Semi & Finals Days (leaflets) @ £10 per day (Sigma @ £20 + free to Fotospeed for adverts in both Exhibition Catalogue + Handbook) possible income = £20. NB Fuji payment in film to sell.
    Advertising copy sent to:Ernie (Handbook) Trevor (Exposure); Copy nearly ready for Exh. Catalogue.
  14. Newsletter Secretary's Report. Newsletter now in 2 forms: PDF for broadband & HTML. This month's edition = 7 pages.
  15. Handbook Secretary's Report
    SPF Handbook.
    Outlined help received & thanked those concerned in overcoming the various difficulties encountered. Costs of distribution were outlined.. The meeting expressed thanks for Ernie's hard work.
  16. Webmaster The site map is now on the front page. The number of hits is rising. Those with scrolling problems were advised to try using F11. The meeting expressed thanks for Peter's hard work.
  17. PAGB Executive Member's Report. Nothing to report. Next meeting will pay attention to the debate on digital competitions. Clubs advised not to use out-dated Handbooks as they may book judges who are not controlled or sanctioned by PAGB. Take-up for Oct. 10 th . still poor. Delegates were asked to bring this meeting & the talk on flaws in digital prints, to the attention of club members. The case of judges claiming membership of a club falsely in order to be accredited was raised. In such cases, report any suspicions to SPF Council. Panels A & B judges – new judges to the SPF. area can only go onto the B panel.
  18. Any Other Business
    Print Box order by October 5 th .
    The Travel Rate is 22p per mile + petrol costs.Leo offered slightly out-dated film for a donation to funds.
