THE ANNUAL EXHIBITION - Guidelines

1. The aim of the Exhibition is to enable SPF affiliated clubs to exhibit prints and slides representative of the range of work by members of the club.

2. Each Club may submit the published number of entries, as decided by Council, in either any one or in both sections. NB: This number will be fixed but may vary from to year to year.

3. The number of prints or slides that may be submitted by any one member, in any participating Club, will be limited as decided by Council. NB: This number may vary from year to year.

4. A member may represent more than one club, provided different pictures are used to represent each club.
4a. Where a print and slide of the same image is made available to a club, only one of those images should be selected.
4b. Where a photographer is a member of more than one club, and has a print and slide of the same picture, only one image may be used, and by only one club.

5. Prints and slides used in previous SPF Exhibitions, for any club whatsoever, are not eligible.

6. Prints and slides may be derived from any photographic process, but copyright of all parts of the final image must be owned by the entrant.

7. Prints including mount, must not exceed 400mm x 500mm, which is also the preferred size. Entries must not be presented in any form that could cause damage to other entries or equipment such as Velcro or other unsafe attachments to prints, or loose labels on slides.

8. Slides may be trade processed and must be mounted, but not in card mounts. The must be correctly spotted for projection. Mount size to be 50mm x 50mm.

9. Entries may be of any subject. Each entry must be clearly identified with the title, entry number, the photographer’s name and that of the club. These should be placed in the bottom right-hand corner.

10. Both print and slide entries will be marked individually, in an order not identifying the club.
10a. Club positions will be decided by score totals. In the event of a tie in the print section, the winner may be decided by comparing the entries as panels, awarding the most aesthetically pleasing.
10b. Individual awards will go to highest scoring prints and slides. Ties will be decided by direct comparison of the photographs.

11. There will be awards for the best Club entry in both the print and slide sections, there will also be awards for the best individual monochrome print, colour print and slide.

12. The awards will be presented at the official opening of the Exhibition.

13. All trophies must be returned as detailed in the Trophy Section on Page 8 of the 2006/2007 SPF Handbook.

14. All arrangements for the Exhibition will be made by the Council, whose decision will be final in resolving any problems or disputes.

15. No entries will be accepted after the published closing date decided by Council.

16. Any breach of the rules may lead to the disqualification of the club(s) involved.

17. All entries will be treated with every care, but the Council cannot be held responsible for loss or damage.
